Voltaren Gel is a prescription medication used to relieve muscle pain, backache, sprains and minor muscle strains. Voltaren gel is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID). It works by blocking your body's production of a substance that cause inflammation.
Voltaren gel is available as a blister strip, blister pack and oral capsule.
How to use Voltaren gel: The use of a Voltaren gel tube (Voltaren Gel) should start at the first sign of a back or pain pain. The gel should be applied to the skin twice a day for the treatment of muscle pain, as well as back, lower and upper legs, and to the hands, arms and feet. The gel may be applied when muscle pain is present or when it is absence. If you are using the tube to insert your finger into your skin, avoid contact with your skin. You can apply the gel up to 25-50 minutes before you feel the pain of a back, and up to 4 times a day. If you prefer the Voltaren gel, you can apply it until the first signs of muscle pain, such as a sore or tender skin, have disappeared. You can apply it for up to 10 minutes. You should not use this medicine if you are also using other medications to relieve pain.
Voltaren gel should not be used by people allergic to aspirin or other NSAIDs (non-selective non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs). In an allergic reaction, such as skin reddening, swelling and shock, or swelling of your lips, face or tongue, sudden withdrawal or wheezing, or chest pain or shortness of breath. If you are using the gel, avoid driving or operating machinery. Stop the gel and contact your doctor if your pain worsens or you see any of the following symptoms: Change of touch or breathing problems; wheezing with others having used the gel; swelling or breathing problems; collapse; sore throat, trouble breathing or swallowing; sore tongue, or tongue that has not been cleared completely; trouble moving or shaking; difficulty swallowing; redness or swelling in the skin rash; itching or hives on the skin; a new rash, fever, skin rash, swelling of face or tongue, mouth, lips or eyes, or a burning or itching skin reaction. This medicine is for general information only and should not be used or maintained as a first choice treatment in acute pain unless recommended by your doctor. If you are aged 65 or over 65, your doctor may also do a physical examination and check your blood pressure. A skin biopsy will be recommended before you start to use the gel to check your skin. During the use of this product, you should be provided with a full list of the instructions for use of the product, including the amount, how often you use it and how to apply. You should know that you are using this product exactly as directed. If symptoms do not improve after 2 weeks of use, talk to your doctor or pharmacist. If you do not complete the full course of treatment, your doctor may increase the dose to a maximum of 3 times a week. Do not use this product more frequently or longer than every 2 weeks. If you are not sure whether you are to use the gel, talk to your doctor. You should be aware that you are taking a medicine called ibuprofen (Advil, Motrin) or other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) such as aspirin or other NSAIDs, to relieve your pain. The use of a Voltaren gel tube is to insert your finger into the skin to reach the skin. You should not use a tube near to the pain area or near to the swelling area. Voltaren gel should be applied to the skin once a day, and then twice a day. When applying to the hands, wrist, elbow, foot or knee, do not wash your hands before applying the gel. It is important to know that you are not using a medicine that is non-selective NSAIDs such as aspirin and other NSAIDs to relieve your pain. You should not use a gel that contains other NSAIDs such as aspirin or ibuprofen. NSAIDs such as aspirin or ibuprofen may cause stomach bleeding. The common side effects of Voltaren gel, such as swelling of the face, tongue, lips, eyes and digestive tract, may also be increased if used for a long time, or for a pain medicine such as a NSAID, so it is not suitable for people with asthma, diabetes and other serious conditions. Take this medication by mouth, usually twice a day. You can use one tablet per day. Apply Voltaren to the affected area about 4-6 times a day at intervals of at least 4 hours. Do not exceed(two tablets in 24 hours).
Do not crush or chew the tablet. Break open any cuts, open any ults or broken tablets. The tablet can be administered with or without food.
Before taking Voltaren:
The use of Voltaren gel is not recommended in children and adolescents under 18 years of age.
The use of Voltaren is not recommended in elderly patients with renal impairment.

Before applying the Voltaren gel, it is important to wash your hands after applying the Voltaren gel. This will ensure the treated area remains effective and will help to prevent any irritating to your skin.
Do not wear contact lenses, including those with a high enough pressure seal to protect the lens from damage.
Voltaren is an anti-inflammatory gel. You can use it by first going to bed and applying Voltaren gel gently on the affected area.
